CARLISLE CONSULTING was founded in 1984. During the first 10 years, Carlisle Consulting provided industrial hygiene services and training to manufacturing facilities in the central Arkansas area. By 1990, Carlisle Consulting gained recognition as a highly reputable source for project design and oversight for asbestos and LBP abatement projects throughout Arkansas and Louisiana.
In 1991, Carlisle Consulting began teaching short courses in Hazardous Waste Operations & Emergency Response and Lead-Based Paint (LBP) Abatement at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock - Graduate Institute of Technology. Carlisle Consulting’s traditional industrial hygiene monitoring was expanded to include indoor air quality studies in residential & commercial buildings and litigation support in 1992. The company began working throughout the Southern U.S. in 1993 by providing asbestos, noise, IAQ, training, and lead in drinking water services for the Region VI Federal Occupational Health Division of the U.S. Public Health Service.
Carlisle Consulting was selected to be the Technical Advisor to the Concerned Citizen's Coalition in 1996. The Coalition was the recipient of an EPA Technical Advisor Grant for the Vertac for the cleanup of Superfund Sites in Jacksonville, Arkansas. The Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) approved Carlisle Consulting as a LBP Training Provider in 1996. Carlisle Consulting trained hundreds of workers, inspectors, and supervisors in LBP abatement, HAZWOPER, respiratory protection, and other important industrial hygiene topics.
