Staff Qualifications

PATRICIA CARLISLE, CIH has over 30 years of experience in the field of occupational and environmental health & safety.  She has been certified in the comprehensive practice of industrial hygiene by the American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH) since 1990.  Ms. Carlisle has been a private consultant for twenty five years.  Before becoming a consultant, she held the position of Industrial Hygienist with a Veterans’ Administration Medical and Research Center, the U.S. Army, and the Arkansas Department of Labor OSHA Consultation Division.  Ms. Carlisle also worked as the Site Industrial Hygienist on a Department of Defense hazardous waste site and as a Safety Consultant at a coal-fired power plant.  She prepared and managed programs, procedures, and training programs in the public and private sectors.  Ms. Carlisle has completed numerous EPA-sponsored courses, including the AHERA Contractor/ Supervisor, AHERA Project Designer, Orientation to Indoor Air Quality, IAQ Diagnostics, IAQ Sampling, Biological Remediation & Control, and Risk Assessment.  She has additional training in environmental health & safety concerns ranging from ergonomics to audiometric testing and noise control to occupational health & safety management systems.  Ms. Carlisle has served as president of Arkansas’ Local AIHA Chapter.

 

JOPLIN R. CARLISLE, CIH has over 30 years of experience in the field of occupational and environmental health & safety.  He has been certified in the comprehensive practice of industrial hygiene by ABIH since 1989.  Mr. Carlisle has held positions in industry, regulatory agencies, and environmental consulting firms.  As Environmental Health and Safety Manager for a major manufacturing facility, he was responsible for managing plant safety, environmental and industrial hygiene programs, including the development of management systems meeting International Loss Control Institute Criteria.  Mr. Carlisle’s experience with consulting firms includes a position as Corporate Health & Safety Manager for an environmental and geotechnical engineering firm, Industrial Hygiene Manger for a hazardous waste incinerator facility, and Industrial Hygienist for a toxicological & litigation support firm.  His regulatory agency background includes hazardous waste and multimedia inspector positions with the Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ).  Mr. Carlisle has completed many EPA-sponsored courses including Lead-based Paint Inspector, LBP Supervisor/Contractor, AHERA Inspector, Risk Assessment and Site Assessment/Mitigation.  He has additional training in environmental health & safety concerns ranging from ventilation to management systems and non-ionizing radiation to toxic tort litigation.   Mr. Carlisle has served as treasurer for Arkansas’s Local ASSE Chapter and is certified as a Safety Consultant by the Missouri Division of Workers' Compensation.
